WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY TOURS IN BOLIVIA

AMAZING WILDLIFE OF BOLIVIA

( PART 1 )

Bolivia is a wildlife watchers paradise. This landlocked country has Amazon Rainforest, Chaco Dry forests, Pantanal Wetlands as well as pristine Yunga Cloud forests.

SEE BELOW SOME OF THE WILD AND BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL SPECIES IN THIS AMAZING COUNTRY

Harpy Eagle

The majestic and rarely seen Harpy Eagle is found in pristine Amazon Rainforests, it has talons the same size as a Grizzly bear and is a prolific sloth and monkey eater. Sadly each year it becomes rarer as land is coverted to soya and ranch land.

JAGUAR

The largest feline of Latin America, this stocky big cat is the king of the Amazon Rainforest , Dry forest of the Chaco and Wetlands of the Pantanal. Its prey includes Capybara, Caimans and sadly cows which are the main reason for this big cats rapid decline.

TAPIR

One of our very favorite animals in Bolivia. This gentle giant is the largest land mammal in South America and is extremely important as its a seed dispercer. Like the Jagaur , its rapidly declining due to overhunting and loss of habitat.

ANACONDA

The Anconda is the stuff of legends, and is feared by every local who shares its habitat. In reality the Anaconda is not the killing machine that movies potray and actually does everything it can to avoid people.

This is just a sample of the amazing wildlife Bolivia has to offer. For the best wildlife tours in Bolivia contact Nicks Adventures Bolivia.  WWW.NICKSADVENTURESBOLIVIA.COM

REMOTE TRAVEL IN THE GRAN CHACO OF BOLIVIA

NEW EXPEDITION TO PALMAR DE LAS ISLAS IN KAA IYA NATIONAL PARK

From the 29th June  - 4 July we partook in an expedition to explore remote areas of the rarely visited Kaa Iya National Park. During the tour we would visit regular areas of Kaa Iya National Park where we have frequent sightings of Jaguars and Pumas, however the aim of the trip was to explore new routes in the Gran Chaco for tourism.

From the first drive we had incredible moments with a sighting of a large Puma, in additon we also saw multiple Tapir , Armadillos and Two Ocelots.

Most interesting was the discovery of a freshly killed Tapir by a Jaguar, we waited 11 hours however as the winds were very strong the Jaguar didnt return until after we had departed. We set up a camera trap and will recover the footage in the coming week.

We departed towards Rio Blanco Park Rangers station and along the way had great sighting of a Yellow footed fox and sadly many signs of hunters entering areas of the Park.

For the next few days we explored new areas of the Park including extremely remote areas of the Park, we were greeting with an amazing Puma sighting, amazing landscapes and many signs of Jaguar in the region.

Overall we had an amazing expedition to new areas of Kaa Iya National Park and are very excited for returning in the near future to explore more areas of this incredible Bolivian Wilderness area.
